A fierce encounter is currently ongoing in the Sanyal area of Hiranagar, Kathua district, where the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police is engaged with 3 to 4 trapped terrorists. The situation escalated on Sunday as intense gunfire erupted between the SOG and the terrorists, believed to be affiliated with the Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorist outfit.
According to sources, the Special Operation Group (SOG) initiated a cordon and search operation following specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. As the SOG intensified their search towards the suspected location, the hiding terrorists opened fire, leading to the current confrontation.
