Complementing the facial scans, additional biometric details, akin to those provided for passport renewals and creation, have been diligently collected from MPs. This serves as a failsafe in case the facial recognition system encounters any hiccups. In such a scenario, alternative methods like thumbprints or a unique PIN will be swiftly employed.
Smart Cards: The key to restricted zones
Imagine smart cards, akin to credit cards, integrating the Smart Card Operating System for Transport Applications (SCOSTA). These cards are programmed to grant access solely to individuals with specific security clearance, ensuring entry only to designated areas.
The encrypted data behind this sophisticated technology is being developed by the esteemed Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
