A man allegedly killed her 20-year-old live-in partner after she refused to indulge in a physical relationship with him in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore on December 7, said police adding the woman’s body was found after two days following a tip-off.
Police said that the accused, Praveen Singh, 24, a native of Guna resided with her live-in partner in the Raoji Bazar area in Indore. He met the woman through a social media platform.
“On December 7 the accused was pressuring a woman for a physical relationship and when she refused, he got angry and allegedly stabbed a scissor on her neck,” said police adding that due to severe injuries the woman died on the spot.
Later, the accused fled the spot leaving the body in the flat. He took her mobile phone with him. Subsequently, when cops came to know about the incident, a case was registered and the accused was arrested.
The incident again raises questions on the legality of the growing trends of live-in relations in urban cities. The Shraddha walkar Murder case was one of the many instances where the female partner was murdered by the male live-in partner. Earlier, BJP MP Dharambir Singh raised the issue in Parliament seeking a law against live-in relationships.
