The bomb threat was received via an email at the Delhi airport, News18 reported. It warned of a ‘human bomb,' triggering concerns among the flight authorities and passengers. Security teams and emergency responders were kept on standby at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for the flight's emergency landing.

The aircraft, an Airbus A321-251NX, took off from Kuwait at 1.56 am and landed in Mumbai around 8.10 am, according to data shown on FlightRadar24. On the incident, an IndiGo spokesperson said that all relevant authorities were promptly informed, and required security checks were also run.

“A security threat was received for IndiGo flight 6E1234 operating from Kuwait to Hyderabad on 2nd December 2025, due to which the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for operations. We made every effort to minimize inconvenience to our customers, including offering them refreshments and sharing regular updates. As always, safety and security of our customers, crew, and aircraft are our topmost priorities,” HT quoted an IndiGo spokesperson as saying.
