Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: The controversy surrounding the famous YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has recently escalated after the Maharashtra Government ordered an inquiry into the case. The State Govt, led by the Cultural Department officials and Minister Ashish Shelar took cognizance of the growing backlash and ordered a formal investigation into the controversy. The issue started when Allahbadia made inappropriate comments regarding parents and sex during his guest appearance at the ‘India’s Got Latent’ show.
His remarks were found vulgar and offensive by many, thus leading to public outrage and legal action. According to reports, the move comes amid complaints against similar shows that are broadcast without proper permission. In response, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister Ashish Shelar who ordered a detailed probe into the case.
Meanwhile, the controversy took another turn after Allahbadia failed to appear before the Mumbai Police on Saturday as part of the ongoing investigation into his controversial remarks. After attempts to contact him were unsuccessful, Mumbai and Assam police teams on Friday arrived at his residence but found his house locked, an official said. His mobile was also switched off, reports added.
The popular show ‘India’s Got Latent’ has been previously criticized for its explicit nature, obscene content, and dark humour. Amidst the ongoing uproar, Allahbadia on Friday approached the Supreme Court, seeking to club the multiple FIRs lodged against him. Meanwhile, his legal team has asked for an urgent hearing into the case.
