Indian Railways is witnessing different development with passage of time. Whether it is about the recent Vande Bharat run in Jammu and Kashmir or about bringing new trains to the Indian Railways, the country’s rail network has seen many developments.
One such announcement is about the Hydrogen Train in India. The Indian Railways is going to the biggest gift in the rail network in the form of Hydrogen Train, as per media reports.
India has recently made the world’s most powerful hydrogen-powered train engine. Unlike other nations, which made hydrogen trains with capacities between 500 and 600 horsepower. India has made it with a 1,200 horsepower. The train is expected to move on 89-Km long track of Jind-Sonipat section.

When Will India’s First Hydrogen Train Be Turned Out
The first Hydrogen Train in India is expected to be there by end of March 2025. As quoted by ETNow, U Subba Rao, General Manager (GM), ICF stated that, “We are working on the flagship project for the Hydrogen Fuel Cell train set. Hydrogen fuel cell coaches are currently being produced at ICF. The train set is likely to be turned out by March 25.”
