A video titled ‘Anju weds Nasrullah’ was released on Monday, apparently by the couple themselves. The video shows them visiting scenic mountainous spots, holding hands, and sitting close to each other. Anju is seen wearing a black robe with red lace on the front and sleeves, covering her face while at the courts but leaving it uncovered while roaming elsewhere. They were accompanied by several other young men in the video.

Nasrullah denied reports about their nikah in an interview with India Today but could not explain why Anju was wearing a burka. However, sources informed Aaj News that Anju did convert to Islam at the Upper Dir courts and later married Nasrullah, who accompanied her. She was given the Islamic name of Fatima.
Malakand Division Deputy Inspector General Nasir Mehmood Satti confirmed the nikah of Anju and Nasrullah. Satti stated that the district police chief had informed him that the nikah was performed at the court of the district and sessions judge. After the nikah, the couple was escorted to their home by the police to ensure their safety.
