Train cancelled: The Indian Railways on Tuesday has cancelled over 240 trains due to safety issues. The prime reasons for train cancelation are maintenance and operational-related work for infrastructure upkeep and safety, said railway department.
According to the railway department, 69 more trains scheduled to depart on January 25 have been partially cancelled. Train passengers should be aware that tickets purchased through the IRCTC website will be automatically cancelled, and a refund will be initiated in the users’ accounts.
Moreover, weather has also creating problems for train to chug on tracks. Over 17 passenger trains in
northern regions were running late on Wednesday due to low visibility and fog, railway officials said.
The Visakhapatnam-New Delhi Andhra Pradesh Express, Mysuru-MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express, and Rani Kamlapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Shaan E Bhopal Express are all running late by 01:00 hours, according to railway officials. The Pratapgarh-Delhi Padmavat Express and the Banaras-New Delhi Kashi Vishwanath Express are both running 02:00 hours late.
Trains such as the Delhi Brahmaputra Mail, Dr Amdedkar Nagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Superfast Express, and the Durg-Hazrat Nizamuddin Humsafar Express are running more than 02:30 hours late, according to officials.

While the Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Gondwana Express and the Bhusaval-Hazrat Nizamuddin Gondwana Superfast Express trains are more than three hours late.
Earlier in the day, 10 trains were delayed in the northern region due to fog.
