Over 8,500 troops have been deployed for this high-tempo operation, supported by an array of advanced technological and operational resources. The security architecture includes a dynamic counter-terrorism grid, prophylactic security measures, and corridor protection strategies designed to safeguard the pilgrimage.

Key Elements Of Operation SHIVA 2025 Include

  • A Counter-UAS grid featuring more than 50 C-UAS and Electronic Warfare systems to neutralize potential drone threats.
  • Regular UAV missions and live monitoring of Yatra routes leading to the Holy Cave, ensuring continuous surveillance.
  • Deployment of engineer task forces dedicated to bridge construction, track widening, and disaster mitigation efforts.
  • A medical support system comprising over 150 doctors and medical personnel, two Advanced Dressing Stations, nine Medical Aid Posts, a 100-bed hospital, and 26 oxygen booths, all supported by 200,000 liters of oxygen.
  • Signal companies ensuring seamless communication, EME detachments for technical assistance, and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads ready for any emergency.
  • Provision of emergency rations for 25,000 individuals, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), tent cities, water points, and essential equipment including bulldozers and excavators.
  • Indian Army helicopters are on standby for rapid response to any contingencies.

Utilizing cutting-edge technology, the Indian Army is implementing live tracking of Yatra convoys between Jammu and the Holy Cave. High-resolution PTZ cameras and drone feeds maintain constant situational awareness, allowing for real-time updates on convoy movements to preempt potential threats. This meticulous approach ensures swift multi-agency coordination for effective security management throughout the pilgrimage route.
