What was Operation Meghdoot?

The Indian Armed Forces’ operation to capture control of Kashmir’s Siachen Glacier, which started the Siachen Conflict, was known as Operation Meghdoot. Meghdoot was the first military offensive of its sort, and it was carried out in the early hours of April 13, 1984, on the highest battleground in the world.

The operation was successful in stopping Pakistan’s upcoming Operation Ababeel, which was meant to accomplish the same goal as Meghdoot. As a result, Indian forces were able to take full control of the Siachen Glacier.
