Indian Air Defence System Intercepts Pakistani Missile, Shoots It Down In Punjab’s Amritsar, Debris Found In Villages

The missile was broken down into three pieces. Debris from the missile scattered across Chitawar and Pandol, with some pieces landing on rooftops and a large six-foot section was found in nearby fields. Thankfully, because the missile was intercepted at a high altitude, only a shallow crater was left in the fields where it landed, preventing what could have been a devastating disaster for the village.

In a significant development, reports indicate that India’s Air Defence system successfully intercepted a Pakistani missile over Amritsar in Punjab last night, around 1 AM. The missile was neutralised mid-air by our anti-missile system and safely brought down. The missile was reportedly heading toward Jethuwal village, located just 30 kilometres from the International Border. The debris of the projectiles has been found in Punjab.

13 Civilians Killed In Poonch Due To Pak Shelling

Thirteen civilians tragically lost their lives in Poonch, and 59 others were injured due to intense shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC), the External Affairs Ministry reported on Thursday. The shelling was in retaliation for India’s Operation Sindoor, carried out on May 7, in which Indian forces targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan had been engaging in unprovoked ceasefire violations, using small arms, since the night of April 25-26.

Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor, conducted between 1:05 am and 1:30 am on Wednesday, was a coordinated effort by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The operation focused on key terrorist facilities, including JeM and LeT bases in both Pakistan and PoK. This military action followed the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed 26 innocent lives and was considered one of the deadliest attacks since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Following the attack, JeM leader Maulana Masood Azhar confirmed the death of 10 members of his family and four close associates in India’s missile strikes.
