The Indian government has continued its action against spreading misinformation and fake news on Jammu and Kashmir and supporting terrorism in India. In the latest move, the social media account (X) of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has been withheld. Moreover, India has banned the social media accounts of many Pakistani journalists associated with Pakistan ISPR and ISI for spreading fake news and misinformation.

Earlier on Monday, India announced a ban on 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for spreading provocative and communally sensitive content and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack. Collectively, these channels have a massive following of over 63 million subscribers.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif asserted that the Indian attack was brewing against Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. While talking to the Reuters news agency, the Pak Defence minister said they have received information through their sources and Indian incursion is imminent and in such a situation, decisions have to be taken and they have taken those.
Asif said that Pakistan is on high alert and would use its nuclear arsenal only in the event of a “direct attack on its existence.” The Pak defence minister urged India to form an international commission to investigate the Pahalgam Terror Attack.
