New Delhi: Ex Vajra Prahar 2022, the 13th edition of the Indo-US Joint Special Forces exercise, got underway yesterday at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh. The Vajra Prahar series of joint exercises aims to increase interoperability between the Special Forces of both Nations and to share best practises and experiences in areas like combined mission planning and operational tactics.

India and the United States alternately hold this annual exercise. In October of last year, the 12th edition was held at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington (USA).

In a statement, the Ministry of Defence stated that this joint exercise is an important milestone in improving bilateral defence cooperation between India and the USA as well as the long-standing camaraderie between the special forces of both countries.

Teams from both armies would work together to prepare for, plan, and carry out a number of Special Operations, Counter Terrorist Operations, and Air Borne operations during the exercise in simulated conventional and unconventional circumstances in mountainous terrain.
