To solve the problem of standing in queue for the toll collection at the toll plazas built on Highways. The government has solved this problem by bringing the satellite-based toll collection system.
According to media reports, now the tax collection will be done through the satellite on the hi-tech Dwarka expressway. Dwarka Expressway will become the first route where the tax will be collected using this system.
For the first time, a 34-lane toll will be developed on the expressway and making it the first expressway to collect the tax using the satellite system. Previously the toll was collected using the traditional method at the toll plaza.
Not only this, but the route will have FASTag and cameras will be planted on the route. This will make the deduction of toll amount automatically.
This 28-kilometer road connects it to Gurugram in Haryana. Such kinds of systems are already adapted by Dubai and several other western countries.
According to media reports, around 97% of the toll tax are collected using the FasTag in India. In this new Satellite based toll collection facility the fee will be calculated based on the distance travelled by you on the route.
