The committee is headed by BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP and former police officer Brij Lal and had served as the UP police chief between 2011-12.

Three Bills introduced by Lok Sabha By Union Minister Amit Shah on August 11 were the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bhartiya Sakshya Bil.
