India Reports Over 1,000 Active COVID-19 Cases; Numbers Climb In Kerala, Maharashtra, And Delhi

India has reported over 1,000 active COVID-19 cases as of May 26, 2025, with the total active cases reaching 1,009 nationwide.

The number of active Covid-19 cases in the country has crossed the 1,000 mark, with Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi being the highest contributors, the government stated on Monday.

As per the Union Health Ministry’s Covid-19 portal updated at 8 am, India has 1,009 active cases, of which 752 are recent. “Kerala has the highest number of active cases with 430, followed by Maharashtra with 209, Delhi with 104, and Karnataka with 47.

Some states, like Andaman and Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, have no active cases,” it said in a statement. Conversely, the discharge number in the country is at 44,511,545, and 533,673 deaths have been reported as well.
