Over the past year, frequent high-level meetings and diplomatic exchanges – including two meetings between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi – have helped to advance bilateral relations through the implementation of key agreements and continued dialogue.

Together, we should advocate for an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. We must firmly oppose any form of tariffs and trade wars, jointly uphold the multilateral trading system, safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and contribute to the collective rise of the Global South.”

China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, highlighted the strong economic ties between the two countries, noting that bilateral trade reached $88 billion in the first seven months of the year, a 10.5% year-on-year increase. He expressed China’s readiness to align development strategies and share modernization experiences with India. He also noted improved people-to-people exchanges, with over 240,000 visas issued to Indian citizens this year, and the resumption of Indian pilgrimages to Xizang and tourist visa issuance for Chinese citizens, both warmly welcomed.
