New Delhi: India is hosting the Global Digital Health Summit for the first time. The two-day conference was inaugurated on Friday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh attended the conference. During this, he said that the recent launch of 5G will bring a new revolution in the digital health care system in India.

2 day event being held in Delhi

At the 2-day ‘Global Digital Health Summit’, held on 28-29 October at New Delhi, delivered the keynote address on ‘How digitalization can bring good governance practices in healthcare’.

India’s use of digital technology, an example for the world

With the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on use of new generation technology to deliver with speed and on a scale as well ensuring transparency. India’s use of digital technology in tackling Covid-19 pandemic has set an example for the whole world.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh addressed the event

Union Minister Jitendra Singh rolled out a tweet. He wrote, “Addressed Global Digital Health Summit. “PM Sh @NarendraModi was among the first in the world to launch Digital Health Mission and today other countries are trying to pick up cues from India’s experience of dealing with a vast and heterogeneous population”.

Ensuring access, quality & affordable healthcare

To ensure access, quality & affordable healthcare, stressed on the need for continued focus on building accurate database, extensive use of analytics, AI-based digital tools and machine learning. This is the way forward in a country of 140 crore people to leapfrog in providing affordable and quality healthcare to all. And, that’s why India is known as IT superpower.

Is democratization of technology important?

A letter is posted on the official website of the event. The letter is addressed to the general public and is written by We must democratize technology, and individual doctors, clinics, and small hospitals, which constitute 80% of healthcare providers, need to use technology.

They are still far away from this as there are many doubts about the application and return on investment for technology. But the longer they wait, the bigger the loss. This global summit will enlighten doctors and the industry on all critical aspects of technology adoption and how digital health will change medical practice.
