Shrinagar: Indian Army on Saturday killed an infiltrator while he was crossing the border in Mendhar sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Army, IED and narcotics have been recovered from the slain intruder. There is a high alert issued in Kashmir and especially alongside borders given the G20 meeting in Union Territory.
On Saturday morning, Army got inputs of some movement at Mendhar LoC in Poonch. After this, they started the search operation. Meanwhile, the jawans got the sound of some intruders coming into their area. During retaliatory action, one intruder was killed. A consignment of drugs has been recovered from him.
It is speculated that he may be linked to drug trafficking. He is being identified and other action is being taken. Along with this, a massive search operation is being conducted in the entire area.
