India-China Relationship: India and China on Wednesday sat down to talk about ‘the Line of Actual Control’ (LAC) in Beijing. This was the first meeting after the situation alongside LAC deteriorated in 2020. It was the 26th meeting over LAC between two border-sharing nations. During the discussion, both countries jointly reviewed the latest situation at LAC in the western sector of the border areas.

The two sides have also discussed proposals to de-escalate armed forces along the border. Thereafter, both nations agreed to hold the next round of senior commander’s level meetings at the earliest.
India and China talked about peace
In this meeting, Joint Secretary of East Asia Department Shilpak Ambule represented India and Director General of Border and Maritime Affairs Hong Liang represented China. Both sides have agreed to help restore peace to reduce tension on the border. Both sides have expressed commitment to strictly follow the protocol on LAC and respect the agreements between the two Asian nations.
