Tamil Nadu: Income Tax Department raids on premises linked to Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister and DMK leader V Senthil Balaji. Clashes were also reported between DMK workers and IT officials who came to search the premises of Minister Senthil Balaji’s brother, Ashok.

According to sources, the raids were conducted at around 40 places, including the residences and offices of various government contractors allegedly having links with state minister Senthil Balaji.

Please inform me that DMK leader Balaji is the MLA from Karur. Sources said that at present, the raids are being conducted in Chennai, Karur, and other places. Police sources said searches were being conducted at the premises of people allegedly associated with the minister in cities including Karur and Coimbatore.

Close relatives of the minister and some contractors were reportedly among those whose premises were being searched by the Income Tax officials. Balaji, a senior DMK leader from Karur, also holds positions in the Prohibition and Excise departments.
