IMD Weather Update: As we move into February, the weather across India is undergoing a significant shift due to two western disturbances. Its presence will be felt over Northwest India from 3rd February 2025, onwards. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation over East Rajasthan is expected to contribute to widespread weather changes. Additionally, IMD forecasts a wet spell to continue over the Western Himalayan Region till the 5th of February. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect in the coming days.
Scattered To Widespread To Moderate Rain/Snow
Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand: 3rd to 5th February, 2025
Isolated To scattered Light Rainfall
Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan: 3rd to 4th February
Uttar Pradesh: 3rd to 5th February
Dense Fog To Blanket West Bengal, Bihar
According to IMD’s latest update and data, dense fog is expected to blanket isolated pockets of Punjab,
Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till today.
Foggy conditions are also likely during the night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha till the 3rd of February. Bihar will witness similar conditions on 4th February, 2025.
‘Very Poor’ AQI In Delhi
The national capital recorded a ‘very poor’ AQI rising to 341 at 6 am on Sunday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier forecasted rain on February 3, 2025.
According to IMD, there has been no significant change in minimum temperature over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures across the city were recorded in the range of 24 to 27°C and 10 to 12°C respectively.
