IMD Weather Update: Two Western Disturbances To Bring Rain, Snow To Western Himalayan Region; Cold Day Warning For HP

Visibility below 50 m was reported in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Tripura. Cold day conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Punjab on 27th January, IMD forecasts.

IMD Weather Update: Two successive western disturbances are set to change the weather pattern over the Western Himalayan Region during the next few days. The first disturbance is expected to affect the region starting 29th of January while the other one is likely to show its impact from the 1st of January. These disturbances will bring isolated to scattered rain and snowfall over the Western Himalayan region from 29th to 1st February. Additionally, light isolated rain is likely to occur over its adjoining plains on 30th and 1st Feb.

Meanwhile, favorable conditions are developing for the cessation of Northeast Monsoon rains across southern India. Over the next two days, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka can expect the northeast monsoon rains to come to an end.

Dense Fog Warning

Visibility below 50 m was reported in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Tripura.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts dense fog conditions during the night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till tomorrow, the 28th of January. Similar conditions are likely to occur in Bihar from 27th to 29th Jan.

Cold Day Warning

Cold day conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Punjab on 27th January, IMD forecasts.

AQI, Weather Forecast For Delhi

After recent light rain shower in Delhi/NCR brought respite to the residents shifting the AQI to ‘moderate’ level, the city woke up to ‘poor’ air quality again on Monday, January 27. The overall AQI was recorded at 242 at 6 am today.

According to IMD, there has been a fall in minimum temperature up to 1°C in the national capital during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi were recorded in the range of 22 to 24°C and 07 to 08°C respectively. The city is set to undergo transitions in weather conditions as we approach the end of January. Delhi will experience a clear weather until the evening of 28th January, 2025. However, on January 29, IMD forecasts generally cloudy sky turning into partly cloudy sky.
