IMD Weather Update: There have been significant changes in the weather over the northern part of the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has attributed these changes to active western disturbance. It said that heavy rainfall/ snowfall spell is likely to continue over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand under the influence of Western Disturbance. High moisture feeding is taking place over northwest India in lower tropospheric levels from Arabian Sea, stated IMD in its press release. Northern states are expected to witness rainfall on Saturday, 1 March.
Weather Forecast
1 March: Isolated to Scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning has been predicted over Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar.
Thunderstorm/Lightning at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir.
Heavy rain is likely to lash Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh.

IMD further stated that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from 2nd March. Several states will witness changes in weather under its influence.
From 2- 4 March:
Rainfall/Snowfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh.
Uttarakhand will witness Rainfall/Snowfall on 3rd and 4th March.
Isolated light/moderate rainfall is expected to lash Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on 3rd March.
The North-eastern part of the country is also bracing for some major changes in weather.
IMD stated that a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam and adjoining Arunachal Pradesh at lower tropospheric levels. This cyclonic circulation will cause heavy rainfall in the north-eastern states.
1 March: Rain accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is expected to lash Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
Isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will also witness rain on 1 March.
IMD Weather Update: Humid Weather Warnings:
IMD has predicted hot and humid weather likely to prevail over Konkan and Goa on 3rd and 4th March; Coastal Karnataka on 1st and 2nd March.
Delhi Weather Forecast
The India Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky today. The maximum and minimum temperatures will remain 28 and 15 degrees Celsius respectively. Mist will engulf parts of national capital during morning hours from 2 to 6 March. Strong surface winds are expected to prevail on 4 and 5 March. According to IMD’s observation, there has been slight fall in minimum temperatures and slight rise in maximum temperatures over Delhi-NCR during the past 24 hours.
