India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain or thundershowers in Mumbai city and suburbs during evening/ night. Haze morning hours has been predicted over the Mumbai city. Maximum and Minimum temperatures in Mumbai will be around 34°C and 27°C respectively. Along with Mumbai, some parts of southern India are also expected to receive rainfall. Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai has forecasted light to moderate rain likely to occur at one or two places of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area. Chennai will have partly cloudy sky today. Maximum temperature will be between 35-36°C and minimum temperature will be around 26-27°C.
IMD said that heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated places over Odisha and Konkan and Goa during last 24 hours. While Mumbai and Tamil Nadu are expected to receive light showers today, no significant weather activity over other parts of the country has been predicted by the India Meteorological Department.
Weather System
About the current weather system, IMD in its press release said that upper air cyclonic circulation of yesterday over south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coast now lies over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha and it extends up to middle tropospheric level tilting southwards with height.
UP Weather
Very light rainfall was recorded at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours; whereas the weather remained dry in western Uttar Pradesh. RMC Lucknow said that the weather will continue to remain dry in both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. There is no specific weather warning for Uttar Pradesh today.
Forecast for South India
Diwali celebration across south Indian states might see some disruption due to rainfall. IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 31st October to 2nd November.
North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe are expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall on 1st and 2nd November. Coastal and South Interior Karnataka will also receive heavy rainfall on 1st November.
Delhi
Delhi will have mainly clear sky today with maximum temperature of 35°C and minimum temperature of 20°C. As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s AQI on 29 October as of 4pm stood at 268 which comes under ‘poor category.’ Current AQI of Delhi stands at 271 as per System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) data.
