IMD Weather Update: Tamil Nadu, Kerala Brace For Weekend Rain, Delhi’s AQI Remains ‘Very Poor’

IMD observed that there has been slight fall in maximum temperature during past 24 Hours in Delhi/NCR. The maximum and minimum temperature in Delhi are currently in the range of 31-33°C and 13-18°C respectively.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. IMD has forecasted isolated heavy rainfall over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 4th– 6th November. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe are expected to receive rainfall during 8th – 10th November. IMD said that moderate to dense fog conditions will develop in isolated parts of northeast Uttar Pradesh today during morning hours.

About the existing weather system, IMD said that a cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Bay of Bengal in lower tropospheric levels and a trough runs from the above cyclonic circulation over southeast Bay of Bengal to south Tamil Nadu.

Temperature Conditions And Forecast

About temperature conditions, IMD said that minimum temperatures are above normal by 2-4°C over Indo Gangetic plains excluding northeast Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where it is above normal by 3-5°C. It said that maximum temperatures are above normal by 2-3°C over Indo Gangetic plains.

IMD has further predicted no significant change in maximum and minimum temperature over the Indo-Gangetic plains during next 3-4 days.

Weather Forecast For Delhi

IMD observed that there has been slight fall in maximum temperature during past 24 Hours in Delhi/NCR. The maximum and minimum temperature in Delhi are currently in the range of 31-33°C and 13-18°C respectively.

Delhi will have mainly clear sky today with mist in the morning hours. The maximum temperature will be 32°C and minimum temperature will be 16°C. Smog or mist condition is likely to prevail during night also.

AQI In Delhi: As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Air Quality Index in Delhi as of 7 am stands at 384 which comes under ‘Very Poor’ Category. AQI recorded from parts of Delhi are Anand Vihar (457), Ashok Vihar (418), Dwarka-Sector 8 (404), Jahangirpuri (440), New Moti Bagh (414), Rohini (401) Punjabi Bagh (402), Lodhi Road (320), Pusa (364), Najafgarh (397), Patparganj (391).

Notably, AQI above 400 comes under ‘severe’ category.
