IMD Weather Update: There have been major shifts in the weather pattern across the entire country. While the southern states are witnessing hot and humid weather conditions, winter chill persists in northern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a fresh western disturbance to affect the Western Himalayan region from 9th March. The western disturbance will bring isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall to the northern and the western Himalayan region.
Here’s a look at statewise weather forecast:
9-11 March
Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh will receive rainfall and snowfall during 9-11 March.
Uttarakhand will experience snowfall and rainfall on 11th March.
IMD in its press release stated that a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. Due to its influence, rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over Bihar on 8th March.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will also receive rainfall on 7th and 8th March.
It has further predicted strong surface winds (25-35 kmph gusting to 45 kmph) to prevail over the plains of northwest India including Delhi on 6th March.
Hot And Humid Weather Warnings:
Hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Kerala and Mahe 6th March.
IMD Weather Forecast For Delhi
The IMD has predicted strong surface winds (25-35 kmph gusting to 45 kmph) likely to prevail over Delhi on Thursday, 6th March. The maximum and minimum temperature will remain 29 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively. From 7 March, the maximum temperature is expected to soar 30 degrees Celsius.
IMD Weather Update: Temperature Forecast:
IMD has forecasted no significant change in maximum temperatures over Northwest India during next 24 hours.
No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Central India (except Vidarbha) during next 2 days.
It has predicted gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C likely over Vidarbha during next 2 days.
No significant change in maximum temperatures over East India has been predicted during next 3 days.
There will be a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C likely over Northeast India during next 2-3 days.
No significant change in maximum temperatures will occur over Maharashtra, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka during next 2 days.
