India has experienced extensive monsoon activity, with heavy to very heavy rainfall observed across several states, including Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and coastal areas, during the period from 17th to 23rd July.
The IMD has issued alerts for extremely heavy rainfall over parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gangetic West Bengal, with isolated heavy to very heavy showers likely to continue over central, eastern, southern, and northwestern regions over the next couple of days. Additionally, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are anticipated in many states, while Delhi is experiencing rising maximum temperatures, with what is otherwise near-normal weather.
East & Central India
Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Odisha on July 24 and 25, Chhattisgarh on July 25 and 26, Madhya Pradesh on July 26 and 27, and over Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal on July 25.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand during July 24-28; and isolated heavy rainfall over Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim during July 24th-27.

South Peninsular India
Extremely heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in Coastal Karnataka on July 24. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some areas of Kerala, Mahe, and both Coastal and South Interior Karnataka from July 24 to 29. Isolated heavy rain is also expected in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and North Interior Karnataka from July 24 to 27. Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may also see very heavy rainfall on July 24 and 25.
Strong surface winds (speed reaching 40-50 Kmph) are very likely over South Peninsular India during the next 5 days. Light to moderate rainfall at most/many places over Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and Telangana during the next week.
Northwest India
Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over East Rajasthan on July 27 and 28, and West Uttar Pradesh on July 28. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir on July 29 and 30; Himachal Pradesh and East Rajasthan during July 26–30; Uttarakhand during July 24–30; Punjab and Haryana on July 27 and 28; West Uttar Pradesh during July 25–30; and East Uttar Pradesh during July 24–30.
Light/moderate rainfall at many places accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning likely over the Western Himalayan region and some places over the plains during the next week.
Weather Forecast For Delhi
A marked rise in maximum temperatures and no large change in minimum temperature in the last 24 hours over Delhi. The minimum temperatures were in the range of 23-26°C, and maximum temperatures were in the range of 35-36°C. The minimum temperatures are below normal by 01-03°C, and the maximum temperatures are near normal over Delhi. Westerly winds prevailed with wind speeds up to 15 kmph gusting 30 kmph over Delhi.
