IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rainfall/ snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh from December 22 to 24.
According to IMD’s latest information and data, a fresh feeble western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India starting December 22. Additionally, IMD has also warned against an active western disturbance expected to impact Western Himalayan region & adjoining plains from December 27.
Cold Wave, Dense Fog & Ground Frost Warning
Severe cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh on December 25 and 26. Additionally, the cold wave is also expected to severely affect Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad till December 26. Punjab and Rajasthan may also face cold wave conditions today.
IMD has predicted dense fog conditions during late night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and Jharkhand till tomorrow (December 22, 2024). Punjab, Haryana, Assam, and Meghalaya may also experience dense fog from Dec 22 to 25.
Ground Frost conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya on Dec 21.
Fishermen Warnings
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the West-Central Bay of Bengal till December 24. Also, IMD stated they must avoid going to the Southwest & Northwest Bay of Bengal, and the Andhra Pradesh coast from December 21 to 24.
IMD Weather Forecast For Delhi
Delhi experienced a rise in minimum temperature up to 3°C on Saturday (December 21). The maximum and minimum temperature over Delhi is in the range of 21 to 23°C and 07 to 09°C respectively. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 398 under the ‘very poor’ category at 7 am today.
