The western disturbance will move eastward and strengthen, along with a north-south trough at lower levels.

According to IMD, due to the cyclonic system and western disturbance, heavy rain is expected in the northeastern states for the next five days, until February 23. On February 19, heavy rain is likely in Assam and Meghalaya. Light to moderate rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. With the new western disturbance, there may be light rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. Rain and snow are also possible in Uttarakhand on February 19-20. On February 19 and 20, rain is expected in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Bihar.
