Due to the western disturbance in the country, the weather is changing frequently. While severe cold and dense fog have left people in distress in some regions, rain has increased the chill in others. There is an alert for rain and snowfall in the hilly areas, with a significant drop in temperatures expected. Dense fog has also covered many states, leading to zero visibility in some places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for the weather in North India until January 19.
Heavy Rain Expected In Several States
On January 16, rain is expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand due to the influence of the western disturbance. Light rain or drizzle is likely in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and eastern Rajasthan.
