IMD Weather Update: Rain To Lash Western Himalayan Region From…, Dense Fog Expected In HP And Odisha

Visibility below 50 m was reported in isolated pockets of Meghalaya and between the range of 50-199 m in isolated pockets of Odisha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts dense fog conditions during the early morning hours in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh and Odisha till 08th February.

IMD Weather Update: The ongoing weather patterns across India are influenced by a series of systems. These systems are expected to significantly impact different regions in the coming few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has identified a Western Disturbance seen as a cyclonic circulation brewing over north Pakistan and adjoining regions of Jammu. Another cyclonic circulation that lies over Central Assam and its neighborhoods is expected to influence Arunachal Pradesh and northeast Assam till today.

These two states would experience isolated to scattered light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on 7th February. Meanwhile, another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region starting the 8th of February, 2025. Under its influence, the region will experience isolated to scattered light rain and snowfall till the 12th of February, 2025

Dense Fog Warning

Forecast Of temperature

IMD observed no significant change in minimum temperatures over Northwest India and Maharashtra during the next 24 hours and a gradual rise by 2-3℃ during the subsequent 4 days. Additionally, a gradual fall in minimum temperatures up to 2-3℃ is likely over Central India during the next 3 days, and no significant change for two days thereafter.

East India would witness a significant fall in minimum temperatures up to 3-5℃ during the next 2 days and no significant change during the subsequent 3 days. However, a gradual rise in minimum temperatures up to 2-3℃ is expected over Gujarat during the next 2 to 3 days.

AQI, Weather Forecast For Delhi

The overall AQI was recorded as 175 at 6 am on Friday, February 7, 2025, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear weather in the national capital till the 8th of February and partly cloudy weather across the city on the 9th. IMD predicted ‘shallow fog’ over Delhi/NCR for the next three days, till February 9. Amid improved air quality, the city is currently experiencing chilly winds blowing during the early morning hours, with many residents seeking refuge in night-shelter homes to stay warm
