IMD Weather Update: Parts of the Indian mainland are going to brace the impact of a Western Disturbance. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its bulletin stated that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from 9th March. The Western disturbance is expected to bring rainfall and snowfall to northern states. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are going to witness rainfall activities from 9th March. Rain is expected to lash Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Nagaland on 7th March.
Statewise Forecast
Rainfall/Snowfall has been predicted over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh during 9th– 12th March.
Uttarakhand will experience isolated light/moderate rainfall/snowfall during 10th-12th March.
Rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds will occur over Bihar on 8th March.
Thunderstorm and lightning over Sikkim on 7th and 8th March.
Delhi Weather Forecast
For 7th March, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted mainly clear sky with mist likely in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures will remain 30 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively.
Temperature Forecast
IMD has predicted gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-5°C likely over Northwest, central India and Gujarat State during next 3-4 days.
No significant change in maximum temperatures will occur over East India during next 1 day.
Gradual rise by 2-4°C in maximum temperatures will be observed over Maharashtra.
Hot And Humid Weather Warnings
While the northern states are still experiencing cold conditions, hot and humid weather has started in Southern states.
IMD has forecasted hot and humid weather to prevail over Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe and Coastal Karnataka from 7th– 8th March; Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on 07th and Gujarat Region from 9-10th March.
Heat Wave Warning
Heat wave is very likely to prevail over Konkan and Goa on 9th and 10th March.
