IMD Weather Update: Rain To Lash Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal And Other Regions; Check Forecast For Next 7 Days

Dense fog conditions are expected to continue to prevail during early morning hours in isolated pockets of Odisha till 16th February. Additionally, the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim would likely see fog till the 17th of February, 2025.

IMD Weather Update: The Western Himalayan Region and northwest India battled active western disturbances for the last few days. However, these disturbances will continue to bring significant weather changes across the region over the next week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts scattered light to moderate rain and snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh, which is expected to continue till 21st February 2025. Additionally, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to witness similar activity on February 19 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation.

During the next 7 days, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim would receive isolated to scattered light rainfall. Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming weather influenced by a fresh western disturbance:

Dense Fog Warning

Visibility between 50-199 m was reported in isolated pockets of Assam and Meghalaya, while Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Pakyong, and Tadong report visibility at 50 each. According to IMD’s latest update and data, dense fog conditions are expected to continue to prevail during early morning hours in isolated pockets of Odisha till 16th February. Additionally, the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim would likely see fog till the 17th of February, 2025.

‘Poor’ AQI In Delhi/NCR

The 24-hour-average AQI was recorded as 255 under the ‘poor’ category at 6 am today, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Delhi saw a significant decline in its pollution levels after being in the moderate category yesterday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a partly cloudy sky over the national capital with smog or mist during the early morning hours till the 18th of February, 2025.
