IMD Weather Update: Rain Lashes Arunachal Pradesh; Fresh Western Disturbance To Impact J&K, Rajasthan & Other States From…

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts thunderstorms and lightning over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and other northeast regions starting the 18th of February, 2025.

IMD Weather Update: A cyclonic circulation and active western disturbances are expected to bring a range of weather phenomena over the next few days. Under the influence of cyclonic circulation brewing over northeast Assam and its neighborhood, Arunachal Pradesh will likely receive light to moderate rain till the 22nd and heavy rainfall on the 19th of February. Additionally, isolated to scattered light rainfall activity will be witnessed over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim during the next 7 days.

According to IMD, a fresh western disturbance is likely to impact the Western Himalayan Region and adjoining plains from the night of 18th Feb till 20th February with peak intensity on 19th and 20th February. West Rajasthan: From 17th to 22nd Feb

West Uttar Pradesh: 20th Feb

Punjab, Haryana: 19th and 20th Feb

Dense Fog Warning

Visibility between 50-199 m was reported in isolated pockets of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim (Pakyong, Darjeeling, Gangtok). According to IMD’s latest update and data, dense fog conditions are expected to continue to prevail during early morning hours in isolated pockets of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim on 17th February.

‘Poor’ AQI In Delhi/NCR

The Air Quality Index (AQI) remained at 255 under the ‘poor’ category at 6 am today, February 17, 2025, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a partly cloudy sky over the national capital with smog/mist till the 19th of February, 2025. Additionally, light rain is expected across the city on February 19 and 20, 2025.
