IMD Weather Update: Rain In Himachal, Heat Wave In Karnataka; Check Temperature Forecast For Next 3 Days

Maharashtra is set to experience stable temperatures for the next two days, with a gradual fall of 2-4°C following this period.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued its latest weather bulletin, highlighting significant temperature variations and rainfall predictions across different regions of the country. Northwest India is expected to witness a rise in maximum temperatures by around 2°C over the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual decline of 2-4°C in the subsequent 3-4 days. Central part of India will see no major temperature changes in the next 24 hours, but a gradual drop of 2-4°C is expected afterward.

Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience a gradual rise of 2-3°C in maximum temperatures over the next 2-3 days. For the rest of India, no significant temperature changes are expected over the next 4-5 days.

The temperature in Peninsular India and Odisha ranged between 35-40°C, while Brahmapuri in Vidarbha recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6°C. In Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and East Uttar Pradesh, temperatures ranged between 30-35°C.

Maximum temperature in Northwest India are expected to rise by around 2°C over the next 24 hours, followed by a gradual decline of 2-4°C in the subsequent 3-4 days, according to the IMD.

According to the IMD, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail over Goa and Konkan between March 2 and 5. Additionally, heatwave conditions are likely over Coastal Karnataka on March 3.

Temperature Changes In Last 24 Hours

  • A drop of 1-3°C was observed in East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and certain areas of Maharashtra, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh.
  • An increase of 2-4°C was recorded in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and parts of West Uttar Pradesh and Telangana.
  • The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a temperature reduction of 2-4°C in Northwest and Central India in the coming days, while Andhra Pradesh is expected to see a rise of 2-3°C.

Rainfall And Weather Systems

  • On March 3 and 4, light to moderate rainfall/snowfall is expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand due to a Western Disturbance.
  • Heavy rain and snowfall are likely in Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on March 3, while Punjab faces a risk of hailstorms on the same day.
