IMD Weather Update: Due to the impact of changing weather patterns, North India is currently experiencing dense fog and severe cold wave conditions. Additionally, rain activity is witnessed in many parts of India, particularly in the southern states, causing disruptions in daily activities.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall till 21st January and fairly widespread showers on January 22 and 23. Rain is also expected to batter Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, north Rajasthan, and West Uttar Pradesh on the 22nd and 23rd of January.
According to IMD, strong northeasterly winds are likely to bring thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry today, January 20, 2025.
Dense Fog Warning
The Met Body predicts dense fog conditions to remain during the night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till 21st and over Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh on 20th January.
Cold Day Warnings
Himachal Pradesh may witness cold day conditions in isolated pockets till 23rd January.
AQI, Weather Forecast For Delhi
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts rain activity in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi on 22nd and 23rd January. The air quality in Delhi remained in the ‘very poor’ category on Monday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI stood at 349 at 6 am today.
There has been a fall in minimum temperature up to 1°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the national capital were recorded in the range of 18 to 21°C and 8 to 10°C, respectively.
