IMD Weather Update: Rising temperatures in different parts of the country are becoming a hot topic of discussion these days. The shift in weather patterns has left the citizens wondering what they should do to cope with the sudden heat wave. You may be relieved for a few days now as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted no heat wave in any parts of the country during the next 4-5 days. However, hot & humid conditions may continue to persist in isolated pockets of Gujarat on the 22nd and 23rd. Southern regions such as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and interior Karnataka will face similar conditions on 20th March.
Amid the extreme weather patterns, the Met Body predicts a trough extending from central Odisha to Vidarbha likely to impact the atmospheric conditions. Additionally, there is a wind confluence looming over east and adjoining central India. Due to the trough, light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning & gusty winds will affect Bihar on the 21st and 22nd, and East Madhya Pradesh & Chattisgarh on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd March. West Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal will receive rain on the 20th & 21st while Vidarbha will experience wet conditions on the 21st & 22nd March.

Weather Forecast For Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha
IMD also forecasts light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning & strong surface winds blowing at a speed of 40-60 kmph over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha from 20th to 22nd March and abate thereafter. Isolated hailstorm activity is also very likely over East Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on the 21st; Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha during the 20th-22nd; Bihar, Vidarbha on the 21st & 22nd; Jharkhand 20th & 21st March.
Rain To Lash Arunachal Pradesh
According to IMD, another cyclonic circulation brewing over northeast Assam and neighbourhood will bring light rain over Arunachal Pradesh from the 21st and 23rd of March and Isolated heavy rain thereafter on the 21st & 22nd of March. Additionally, Northeast states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will get rain during the next 5 days. Due to a Western Disturbance, the northern states of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh will experience light showers accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning & gusty winds today.
