IMD Weather Update: Northwest India Braces For Rising Temperatures, Heatwave Persists In Odisha, Jharkhand & Telangana

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of rising temperatures across Northwest India, with Delhi expected to reach 40°C by the end of March.

The weather forecast for the coming days indicates a shift in temperature patterns across different regions of India. A gradual rise in maximum temperatures is expected in Northwest India, while East India will experience a slight dip after a brief period of stability.   1. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by about 3-5°C likely over Northwest India during next 4-5 day
  2. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over East India during next
    3 days and fall by 2-4°C during subsequent 2 days.
  3. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest parts of India during next 3-4 days.

Heat wave to Severe heat wave conditions likely to continue at isolated pockets over interior Odisha on 17th March and heat wave conditions at isolated pockets during subsequent 2 days. Heat wave conditions likely to continue at isolated pockets over Jharkhand, Vidarbha & adjoining North Telangana on 17th March Hot & humid conditions very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over coastal areas of Gujarat during next 5 days; over Konkan & Goa on 17th & 18th March and over north interior Karnataka during 17th – 19th March

Past Weather In Delhi NCR

There has been a fall in minimum and maximum temperatures up to 01°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 30 to 32°C and 15 to 17°C respectively. The minimum temperature was near normal and maximum temperature was above normal up to 03°C at most places.

Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the variable direction with wind speeds less than 10 to 12 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours.
