India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its press release said that isolated heavy rainfall is likely to continue over parts of south Peninsular India during the next 4-5 days. It has predicted heavy rainfall over South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It had earlier informed that Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the country on 15th October and Northeast monsoon has commenced over southeast peninsular India.
Whereas, IMD has predicted no significant rainfall activity over the rest of the country during the next one week.
South Peninsular India
IMD has predicted fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall likely to occur over Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka during the week.
Whereas Scattered to Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall has been predicted for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal are expected to receive Isolated heavy rainfall today.
South Interior Karnataka will also see significant rainfall today.
West India
During the next 5 days, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra are expected to receive Scattered to Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall
Isolated to Scattered light to moderate rainfall over Marathwada, Gujarat has been predicted for the next 5 days.
Northwest, East, Central & Northeast India
IMD has not predicted any significant rainfall activity over these regions during the week.
Delhi
Delhi will have mainly clear sky with maximum temperature 35°C of and minimum temperature of 19°C.
The real-time air quality in Delhi stands at 354 AQI which false under ‘very poor’ category. The current concentration of PM2.5 in New Delhi is 164 (µg/m³).

Fishermen Warning
IMD has mentioned that Squally weather with wind speed 35 kmph to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over along and off Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra coasts, over eastcentral Arabian sea and Lakshadweep areas, over Comorin area, Gulf of mannar. Fishermen are advised to not go to the sea.
It further informed that yesterday’s Depression over west central & adjoining Bay of Bengal has crossed north Tamil Nadu, South Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Nellore, close to north of Chennai, near latitude 13.5°N and longitude 80.2°E on 17th October. Currently it has weakened into a well marked low pressure area and lies over South coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining North coastal Tamil Nadu. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and weaken into a low pressure area during the next 6 hours.
