India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. It has also issued Cyclone alert for Odisha and West Bengal Coasts as deep depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bnegal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm. Andaman Islands is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall today.
In Odisha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsingpur, Puri and Khorda districts will receive light to moderate rainfall today. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted over Baleswar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsingpur Kendujhar, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khorda and Puri districts of Odisha on 24th and 25th October.
In West Bengal, light to moderate rainfall over South and North 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Jhargram, Howrah, Hooghly, Kolkata is predicted for today.
Cyclone Alert
IMD in its press release informed that a depression which lies over East central Bay of Bengal is very likely to move west north westwards and intensify into a cyclonic Storm by 23rd October over same region. Following that it will intensify into a severe Cyclonic Storm over northwest Bay of Bengal by morning of 24th October and cross north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar island during night of 24th to 25th October morning.
Keeping in view the occurrence of cyclonic storm, fishing operations have been totally suspended during 23rd to 25th October over Central and North Bay of Bengal. IMD has released warning for fishermen and advised not to venture into East central Bay of Bengal during 23-24 October.

East India
Odisha is expected to receive Light to moderate rainfall today. Gangetic West Bengal will also receive light to moderate and heavy rainfall at isolated places today.
South Peninsular India
For the next three days, IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe will receive isolated heavy rainfall today.
West India
IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during next 3 days.
Northeast India
Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at many places accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning during next four days. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya will receive isolated heavy rainfall today.
Northwest India
IMD has predicted no significant rainfall activity over these regions during the week.

Delhi will have mainly clear sky with maximum temperature of 35 and minimum temperature of 20. As per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s AQI stood at 327 which comes under very poor category.
