IMD Weather Update: Heavy Rain To Lash Andaman, Cold Wave Alert For Punjab; Check Forecast For Other Regions

IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. It has also issued severe cold wave warning for Punjab during 14^th-15^th December. IMD stated, “Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions very likely in some parts of Punjab on 13th & 14th and over isolated pockets on 15th December.”

Rainfall Forecast

Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rainfall on 17^th December, whereas Kerala is likely to receive rainfall on 17^th and 18^th December.

Heavy rainfall has been predicted over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema on 16^th and 17^th December

Heavy rain is expected to lash Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 14^th -15^th December.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry on, 14th, 16^th and 17^th December.

Temperature, Cold Wave And Fog Forecast

Forecast Of Temperature

IMD in its press release said that no significant change in minimum temperatures will occur over Northwest and West India during next 2 days, but a rise by 2-3℃ thereafter will take place.

It further added that no significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over Gujarat, Central and East India during next 5 days.

IMD Weather Update: Cold Wave Warnings

IMD has warned of cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in some parts of Punjab on 14^th and over isolated parts on 15^th December.

Along with it, cold wave conditions have been predicted in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during 14^th-16^th, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during 14^th-15^th, Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand on 14^th December.

Dense Fog Conditions

IMD has said that dense fog conditions will prevail during late night/ early morning hours in Odisha till 15^th, East Uttar Pradesh during 16^th-18^th, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura till 20^th December morning hours.

Ground Frost Warning

Ground frost conditions has been forecasted over Punjab today.

Weather Forecast For Delhi-NCR

Delhi will have mainly clear sky with smog/mist likely in the morning. The predominant surface wind is likely to be from northwest direction with speed less than 08 kmph during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are expected to remain 23°C and 7°C, respectively.
