IMD Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. It has also issued severe cold wave warning for Punjab during 14th-15th December. IMD stated, “Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions very likely in some parts of Punjab on 13th & 14th and over isolated pockets on 15th December.”
Rainfall Forecast
Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rainfall on 17th December, whereas Kerala is likely to receive rainfall on 17th and 18th December.
Heavy rainfall has been predicted over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema on 16th and 17th December
Heavy rain is expected to lash Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 14th -15th December.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry on, 14th, 16th and 17th December.
Temperature, Cold Wave And Fog Forecast
Forecast Of Temperature
IMD in its press release said that no significant change in minimum temperatures will occur over Northwest and West India during next 2 days, but a rise by 2-3℃ thereafter will take place.
It further added that no significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over Gujarat, Central and East India during next 5 days.

Along with it, cold wave conditions have been predicted in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during 14th-16th, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during 14th-15th, Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand on 14th December.
Dense Fog Conditions
IMD has said that dense fog conditions will prevail during late night/ early morning hours in Odisha till 15th, East Uttar Pradesh during 16th-18th, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura till 20th December morning hours.
Ground Frost Warning
Ground frost conditions has been forecasted over Punjab today.
Weather Forecast For Delhi-NCR
Delhi will have mainly clear sky with smog/mist likely in the morning. The predominant surface wind is likely to be from northwest direction with speed less than 08 kmph during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are expected to remain 23°C and 7°C, respectively.
