IMD Weather Update: Squally/Gusty winds prevailed at isolated locations over North Interior Karnataka over the past 24 hours. On the 1st of April, heat waves will likely intensify in isolated pockets of Saurashtra & Kutch. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that hot and humid weather to persist in isolated pockets of Assam today. Additionally, Tripura will witness similar conditions till the 3rd of April, while Gujarat will continue to face the wrath from the 1st to the 4th of April.
Heavy Rain Warning
Heavy rain will likely lash isolated places over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on 3rd and 4th April. Thereafter, Kerala & Mahe will receive heavy rain from the 3rd to the 6th of April. The Met Department has also informed that the maximum temperatures are likely to intensify over northwest India by 3-5°C on 1st and 2nd April.

Thunderstorms, Gusty Winds Over Multiple States
The weather body has warned against a cyclonic circulation brewing over Marathwada and a north-south trough extending above. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, traveling at a speed of 30 to 60 kmph are likely to impact Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Konkan & Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra from 1st to 4th April. At the same time, places such as Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Interior Karnataka will be affected till Friday.
Hailstorm Alert
IMD has also issued an alert for Hailstorms between the 1st to 4th of April. The affected regions include Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, North Interior Karnataka, and South Interior Karnataka.
