IMD Weather Update: Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in several states, causing severe waterlogging and traffic woes. Torrential rain lashed parts of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, and Mizoram on Wednesday. In view of the situation, the India Meteorological Department has urged residents to keep an eye on the weather for any worsening conditions. The Weather Body has warned of incessant showers in multiple states till August 30.
Rain To Lash East And Central India
According to IMD’s latest Press Release, isolated heavy rainfall is expected to lash Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim till August 30, 2025. Bihar and Jharkhand will also face the wrath of monsoon rains on 29th and 30th August.
Himachal Weather Update
Landslides and flash floods have disrupted the daily life in Himachal Pradesh and resulted in many loss of lives. Amid the worsening situation, the IMD has sounded a yellow alert for rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh, including Solan and Simaur cities.
Weather Forecast For Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab And More
Torrential rains are expected to continue battering Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and Haryana for the next 7 days. The other affected places to witness rain are Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab from August 30 to September 1; West Rajasthan during August 29-31; Uttar Pradesh on September 1 and 2.
Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is also likely over Northwest India. Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and West Rajasthan will receive showers today, while Uttarakhand during the next 7 days.
Northeast Braces For Intense Rainfall
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Arunachal Pradesh from August 28th to 30th August. Meanwhile, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura will receive rain during the next 7 days.
