India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain likely to occur over in some districts of Kerala today. South Tamil Nadu, south Kerala and Lakshadweep received isolated heavy rainfall yesterday. Southern states have been receiving rainfall due to effect of Cyclone Dana in Bay of Bengal. Yellow alert was issued yesterday for Ernakulam, Palakkad, Malappuram and Khozikode districts. Whereas eight districts are on yellow alert today, which includes Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts continue to remain on yellow alert for today as well
While southern states are expected to receive heavy to light showers, IMD has predicted no significant weather over rest parts of the country.
IMD further added that heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal were recorded during the past 24 hours.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Jharkhand also received heavy rainfall at isolated places yesterday.
Weather System
About the existing weather system, IMD said that the depression, a remnant of Cyclone Dana over north Odisha has weakened into a well-marked low pressure area over the same region and it will weaken further and become insignificant during next 12 hours. It added that a trough runs from Lakshadweep area to north Tamil Nadu coast in middle tropospheric levels.

IMD has also released post Cyclone Agromet advisories for the districts of North Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.
Delhi To Have Clear Sky
There was a sigh of relief for people in Delhi as the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital moved back to ‘poor’ category. As per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the AQI in Delhi as of 26 October, 4:00 pm stood at 255 which comes under poor category. Delhi will mainly have clear sky today with maximum temperature of 34°C and minimum temperature of 19°C. Air Pollution level of Delhi is expected to turn severe from Sunday.
