IMD Weather Update: While Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru are expected to experience relatively normal weather conditions in the coming days, multiple other regions are reeling under heavy rain. The monsoon activity is currently at its peak in parts of eastern Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Gangetic West Bengal, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Odisha, and Jharkhand.
IMD has warned against a looming depression over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off South Odisha- North Andhra Pradesh coasts around 26th September. It is very likely to cross the South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts around 27th September.
Monsoon Activity To Continue In South India
South India is set to experience torrential rainy conditions across states till September 27, 2025. The affected regions include Kerala, Mahe, Rayalaseema, Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, and Telangana. Strong surface winds accompanied by rain are likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next 5 days.

West India: The monsoon activity is expected to continue over Gujarat till September 23, and over Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra during the next 7 days, except on the 24th.
East & Central India: Isolated heavy rain will lash West Madhya Pradesh on September 22; Bihar during 25th-27th; Jharkhand during 24th-26th, Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 24th and 25th; Gangetic West Bengal on 22nd and 23rd; Chhattisgarh & Vidarbha during 24th-27th; Odisha during 23rd-27th September.
Northeast India: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rainy spell is likely to continue over Northeast India during the next 3 to 4 days. In its latest press release, the Weather Body has predicted isolated heavy showers over Assam, Meghalaya, from September 22 to 24, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till September 23 and 27.
