India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. IMD in its press release, said that gradual fall in minimum and maximum temperature over North and East India by 2-3°C will be observed during 3rd – 7th November. It said that during last 24 hours, heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated places over Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Coastal Karnataka.
About the existing weather system, IMD informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over Gulf of Mannar in lower tropospheric levels.
Rain Forecast For South India
IMD has said that light to moderate rainfall accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe during 1st– 3rd November.

Temperature Conditions And Forecast
IMD mentioned that there is a fall in both maximum and minimum temperatures over plains of Northwest India by about 2-3°C during past 24 hours. “They are above normal by 2-6°C over Northwest India. Minimum temperatures are above normal by 2-5°C over parts of Central, Western and Eastern India,” said IMD.
Weather Forecast For Delhi/NCR
IMD said that both maximum and minimum temperature over Delhi currently are at the range of 32-34°C and 15-20°C respectively. During the last 24 hours, sky condition was mainly clear in Delhi with wind from Northwest directions with wind speed reaching 08 – 16 kmph prevailing during daytime.
Delhi will have mainly clear sky today; surface wind is likely to be calm during morning hours. There will be smog and mist in the morning and as well as in the night, added IMD. The wind speed will gradually increase becoming 08 -12 kmph from Northeast directions during afternoon. It will decrease thereafter becoming less than 10 kmph from East directions during evening.
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) as of 7 am today stands at 294 which comes under ‘Poor’ Category as per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.
