IMD Weather Update: Heavy Rain Alert Issued For THESE States Till May 1 – Check Full Forecast

A fresh Western Disturbance, likely to impact Northwest India from 2nd May, is expected to bring significant changes in the weather pattern. Under its influence, light showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching 30-50 kmph will hit Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from 1st May to 5th May.

IMD Weather Update: Different systems such as troughs, cyclonic circulations, and western disturbances are expected to influence the weather patterns from East to Northwest India. Due to this, light showers, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, are likely to impact several states till 3rd May. The affected states include Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.

Heavy Rain To Lash Assam, Odisha

In its latest press release, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned against isolated heavy rainfall over Odisha on 30th April and 1st May. Residents must note that intense downpours are also expected to lash Assam and Meghalaya today, 30th April. Be cautious, take precautionary measures and keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions.

Light Rain & Thunderstorms To Impact Multiple States

A fresh Western Disturbance, likely to impact Northwest India from 2nd May, is expected to bring significant changes in the weather pattern. Under its influence, light showers, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching 30-50 kmph will hit Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from 1st May to 5th May. Additionally, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan will face similar conditions till the 4th of May.

Duststorm And Thundersquall Warning

The Weather Department has predicted dust storms at isolated places over different states - East Uttar Pradesh on 30th April; Punjab, Haryana, Delhi on 1st May; Rajasthan during 1st-5th May. On the other hand, an alert for light rain, thunderstorms, lightning & strong wind (gusting to 50 kmph) has been issued for Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during the next 7 days with thundersqualls over North Interior Karnataka on 2nd and 3rd May.
