IMD Weather Update: While a heatwave grips northern plains of the country, southern and northeastern states are bracing for rainfall. The rainfall is expected under the influence of weather systems, including a cyclonic circulation over southeast Bay of Bengal to south Tamil Nadu, and a trough running from East Bihar to North Telangana. Rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds has been predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala, Karnataka and Mahe today. Whereas, hailstorm is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, and Bihar on Tuesday, April 8 and over Jharkhand on April 9. Assam and Meghalaya will witness rainfall on April 8.
IMD Weather Update: Heat Wave Warning
The IMD has predicted further heat wave conditions for 21 cities across Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Odisha. An orange alert has been issued for Rajasthan on April 8, with a yellow alert in place for April 9 and 10. IMD has also issued yellow alert for heatwave in Delhi until April 10.

Heat wave conditions will prevail over Saurashtra and Kutch, East Rajasthan on Tuesday.
Heat wave conditions very likely at some/many places over West Rajasthan during 8th-10th April with severe heat wave conditions at isolated pockets on 8th and 9th April.
Heat wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Delhi on April 8.
Haryana, Chandigarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region during 8th-10th
Punjab during 08th -10th; West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha on 8th and 9th; East Madhya Pradesh during 8th-10th April.
Warm night conditions is likely in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh on April 8th-9th; Saurashtra And Kutch on April 8.
Hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over coastal areas of Gujarat during 8th-10th and Konkan and Goa on 8th and 9th April.
Delhi Weather Update: Forecast For Tuesday, April 8

Talking about how the weather will be today in Delhi, the IMD forecast tells us of scorching heat. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius. A maximum humidity level of 45 per cent has been predicted in the national capital. The sky will remain mainly clear. Residents will continue to face challenges, as yellow alert for heatwave has been issued for Tuesday, April 8. According to the IMD, the Maximum and Minimum temperature is currently in the range of 39 to 41°C in Delhi.
Precautionary Measures

As the temperature is increasing across the country, residents are advised to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the effects of hot weather. Keeping in view the weather forecast for April 8 and heatwave alert, people are advised to stay cautious. They should stay hydrated, cover themselves when going outdoors, carry umbrellas and include water-rich fruits and vegetables in their diets. They should refrain from engaging in heavy physical activities during the day.
