The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘yellow’ alert for Delhi on December 19 due to cold weather and dense fog during morning hours. Delhi residents are anticipated to wake up with chills due to a projected cold wave, according to the weather office. According to the IMD, Delhi’s minimum temperature is likely to drop to 7 degrees Celcius, while the maximum temperature may reach around 22 degrees Celcius. The city is expected to see a partly cloudy sky, with moderate fog in many areas and dense fog at a few places in the morning. There may also be mist or shallow fog at night.
IMD Weather prediction: Delhi is under yellow alert
Due to the IMD’s forecast of heavy fog throughout the city, all areas in Delhi are under yellow alert. In Delhi-NC, visibility has decreased due to the thick fog and haze.
IMD Weather prediction for Punjab and Haryana
Dense to extremely dense fog is predicted for Punjab on December 19 and 20 in the early morning. On December 21, 24, and 25, the IMD has also predicted severe fog in isolated areas. Haryana and Chandigarh are expected to have similar circumstances, with dense to extremely dense fog expected from December 19 to 21 and dense fog in isolated regions on December 22, 24, and 25.

IMD predicts that from December 19 to 21, Uttar Pradesh will see severe to very dense fog in a few to several spots in the early morning. From December 22 to 25, isolated areas may see dense fog.
